This model does not have any extra additions that the latest models have; however it more than serves the purpose. Great value for money. Holds charge for even longer than 2 weeks. The 2 min auto shut off is a nice feature. Philips Sonicare was recommended by my dentist, and after researching through different models I decided this was perfect for my needs. As always shopping through Amazon was hassle free.

This toothbrush is frankly violent I was only able to use it 3 times and I didnt EVEN PRESS at all because its too strong and violent. My teeth arent even sentive so I dont know what the problem is with this brush!! Not only did it make a huge MESS in my bathroom on the mirror and vanity my gums are sore and after a little research apprently these brushes cause receeding gums, I UNDERSTAND WHY NOW. Geez this thing is BAD. If you have crowns or implants or even wisdom teeth I DONT RECOMMEND this. And now I know apprently neither does my dentist my dentist says you should use a regular brush then manuel oral B brush not this. BE WARNED. I’m returning this today!

My dental hygienist recommended the Sonicare toothbrush to me because of its ability to gently clean the gumline well. It is doing an excellent job. I was reluctant to switch from my Oral B because it was fairly new and I like the small brushhead. However Sonicare also has a small but different shape brushhead and softer bristles. Another feature unrelated to cleaning my teeth is the smooth plastic handle which is easy to wipe clean and does not leave deposits on the base. The base also has a place to rewind unusable cord. My oral B handle looks hideously dirty and there is no way to clean it off because of the matte rubber finish. Also every week I have to scrub the base with Q-tips to clean off deposits, which is annoying. The Sonicare gets A+ for design and performance.

Purchased as a replacement for a Philips Sonicare Power Toothbrush I’ve used for 10+ years. Internal rechargeable battery appears to need replacement and there is no way I’m able to do it easily.

The Philips Sonicare Essence 5300 Power Toothbrush seems to have same power and 2 minute timer. The only gotcha! is the previous one had 3 30 second brief pauses during the 2 minutes so you can brush equal amounts on 4 surfaces.

This is THE toothbrush to get….LOVE IT!!! I tried the Essence 5300 and returned it…it was a piece of junk. Battery stopped working completely after a day. THIS ONE IS THE BOMB!!! Look no further!!!!!
