I’ve owned many Nalgenes over the years and love them. This one is has a nice slim form so it will fit in a bicycle bottle holder or car drink holder. Be warned, however, that the lid does not seal well at all. If you put this bottle in a backpack, you are going to have a problem. More than once I have dropped the bottle while closed and the contents would pour out all over the place. Skip this one and buy a Nalgene with a proper screw-tight lid.
Upon my initial inspection of the bottle I suspected that the chintzy plastic top would be a liability. Sure enough, after only two weeks of minimal use (it mostly sat on my nightstand), the plastic ring that secures the top snapped in two. Stick with the original lid.
I have had this water bottle a week, and it was just what I needed at the office. I stay hydrated and don’t have to keep filling up my coffee mug. Some people have mentioned that this water bottle leaked or that the cap didn’t close securely. I haven’t had that experience. I have carried it in my work bag, and turned it upside down. No leaks whatsoever . . . so far. I like that the mouth is small for drinking and there is no straw like some water bottles. It makes cleaning much easier.
My husband liked my water bottle so much that he asked me to order one for him. One of the reasons that I like it is that
it fits into the cup holder in the car. The second reason is that It fits into the top shelf of the dish washer. Also, I bought
it in every color.
This is a great water bottle to keep on your desk and to carry around. The flip up top is a great convenience factor, particularly since you don’t have to suck water through a straw. The bottle fits nicely into a car cup holder and a bike water cage. However, it has a snap-up lid, and it doesn’t seal 100%. So, if you turn it upside down, it will dribble. That makes it unsuitable for carrying in a backpack or anywhere that it would be stored on its side.
I use these bottles for water around the house and in the car. For my backpack, I use traditional Nalgene bottles with screw-top caps. And that’s how I would recommend this bottle–on the desk and in the car.
