If you want a super heavy duty flashlight that can also be used for self defense then this flashlight is for you!

I have had this flashlight for literally over 25 years and it is going strong. I got it as a boy scout for campouts when I was about 15. It wasn’t bought on Amazon since they didn’t exist back then! It has survived many a camping trip and now that I’m a dad myself comes in handy around the house. Always a great accessory to bring with you to check out those “bumps in the night” – this bad boy doubles as a formidable club. I remember checking out the different sizes from 3 to 6 cells and the 4 cell had (for me) just the right balance between weight and light output. I like it so much I just ordered an LED upgrade which is no longer manufactured by Mag and costs about the same as a new light since it is in demand. Financially not the smartest thing I’ve done but I wanted to keep this one going. Sentimentality and loyalty to a flashlight? Only to a Maglite!

I have 6 of them and one in my car. I gave one to my mom. I told her you use to hit someone over the head if you need to lol I told her also if there is ever a fire use it to brake out the window with it. One of mine is at least 13 years old. Sure you are spending a little more for maglite but they last for ever. I have drop mine from about 30 feet the dam thing still works great. This week i pick up 10 pack of D battery with spring coming up and bad weather.

I have used this flashlight in Haiti, in the high humidity and extreme dust. It held up beautifully and I always left mine behind for friends to use.

I now use Maglite 4 and 6 D cell flashlights at home and in the car. They are easy to grip, easy to focus and solid. Plus they are MADE in the USA. Something I have recently come to pay attention to once again. When I was a kid, we always looked for the union label and Made in the USA markings and somehow slipped away from paying attention to that distinction. This is a well made and hardworking solid tool well deserving of the accolades it receives.

Not much needs to be said, a fantastic light that has served me for years. It just got to be time to replace a very old one. I stand by the traditional bulb for the same reason I recommend the 3 cell over the 2 cell, they’re better if you need to crack somebody in the skull.
