The DEWALT D28402K Small Angle Grinder is designed to make demanding tasks easier to complete with innovative features, including : a powerful 10 amp, 11,000 rpm motor; an ergonomic, slim body design; and a large spindle lock button for easy wheel changes. The grinder has built in protection, featuring a one piece brush arm to guard against dust ingress, an auto-brush shut off to prevent damage when the brush is ready to be changed, and a paddle switch lock-off feature so the grinder won’t power on accidently. The D28402K's ergonomic, removable side handle increases comfort and reduces vibration and the patent Quick-Change Wheel Release enables you to disengage the wheel without a wrench. Its jam-pot, low profile gear case is designed with exact gear alignment to help you maneuver into tight spaces while producing a lower sound transmission and comfortable operation.
My company had a lot of large machines to grind down and paint and we also have a lot of welding projects that have to be buffed and this product really holds up. The pads are kind of costly but they last and hold up to hard use.
I am quite pleased with the grinder. Only wish that I would have stepped up to one with more power. The job would have gone quicker.
I bought this tool locally and it came without a case, but I needed it the day I bought it. There were two available one 7.5 amp with a black plastic gearbox and this one 10 amp with a METAL gear box cover. I thought, there is no way I want a plastic gearbox cover on a grinder. I really like this tool. I was installing a chimney liner and the cast iron damper assembly was in the way and I had to remove a portion of it. It cut through the cast iron with ease, I wish the cutoff disks were as good as the grinder; I went through many of these, 1 per 4.5 inches of cut. I used the grinding wheel to smooth the cut edges so they would not puncture my liner, worked great. THe quick change feature is nice but you still have to use the provided tool. I can see using this tool a lot, it has all the power and speed you need around a home. If this lasts as long as my dewalt drill I will be very happy.
It’s built like a tank with enough power to grind down the Titanic! Superb craftsmanship, ergonomic controls. Highly recommend it!
I love Dewalt tools, so maybe I am a little biased. I have had no problems with this tool. It has been very handy to have around.
