All you do is sync iPod touch to iTunes, and Genius automatically searches your library to find songs that sound great together. Then it creates multiple mixes you'll love. These mixes are like channels programmed entirely with your music.
Genius Playlists
Say you're listening to a song you really like and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. Listen to the playlist right away, save it for later, or even refresh it and give it another go. Count on Genius to create a mix you wouldn't have thought of yourself.
Shake to Shuffle
Shake things up a bit. Musically speaking, that is. The next time you're listening to your tunes, turn on Shake to Shuffle, then give iPod touch a shake to shuffle to a different song in your music library.
iTunes
Fill your iPod touch with songs and music videos from your iTunes library on your computer. Or buy and download new music on your iPod touch when you access iTunes over Wi-Fi. Songs you purchase on iPod touch transfer to your Mac or PC the next time you connect iPod touch to your computer.
Bluetooth
Look, no cables. iPod touch includes the iPhone 3.1 software, so you can pair Bluetooth stereo headphones with it. Keep your iPod in your bag or charging on your desk across the room and still listen to your music.
Carry hours of video with you and watch it on the crisp 3.5-inch color widescreen display.
With iTunes on your iPod touch and a Wi-Fi connection, you can buy movies and TV shows on the fly.

While watching your video, tap the display to bring up the onscreen controls. You can play or pause, view by chapter, and adjust the volume. You can also use the volume controls on the left side of iPod touch. Want to switch between widescreen and full screen? Simply tap the display twice.

Apple’s done it again – the iPod Touch is yet another confirmation that Apple has the magic touch when it comes to consumer electronics. With the iTouch, Apple continues its dominance in the “form vs. function” debate, as the iTouch has both a stylish form AND intuitive, robust functionality. The only thing I would fault (mildly) is that it is not very ergonomic in its intended use (i.e., held in the palm of the hand). Without a rubber cover, I found it was very easy to drop the iTouch, in large part because the rectangular design leaves very few contact points for my hand/fingers. Other than that, I think it’s great.
I bought this for my daughter’s birthday. I love it – thinking about purchasing one for myself. She has found all kinds of apps to download and loves to use it for facebook (helps keep her off my computer).
I got my ipod touch a little while ago. It’s a damn good piece of machinery but the truth is…it’s only useful if you like to play games..there are so many game aps and random BS aps that its extremely hard to find some of the most useful ones..its also kinda slow at times and takes a while to load aps and pages..some aps freeze too. Honestly, unless youre a big time gamer..you should just get 3G coverage on a blackberry. The email system is much better on blackberrys and they have most of the aps the itouch/iphone does. Also im pissed off that one of my friends got his itouch on wavee for a few pennies and i had to pay $300 for the same tiny little game console that for some reason, loves to crash when i play games…i could have bought an xbox360 and gotten better use out of it that this itouch..some of the games are cool however..
Aps: 6/10
-Hard to find useful ones bc there are so many BS ones.
-The games are awesome though
Durability: 8/10
-Ive dropped it a few times and it’s still kickin
Price: 4/10
-Should have gotten it super cheaper like my friend
-Should have bought an Xbox360 for same price and gotten a better value
Fun: 10/10
-Perfect if you love games!!…on a tiny screen

Back in 1983 my first PC was and Apple IIe. I loved this PC and graphic wise it was way ahead of the XTPC running MSDOS.(The ugly Green Screen)
Over time MSDOS was replaced by Windows and Microsoft took its place as King of the hill..
Apple went through many failed iterations.. The Lisa, etc, etc… It seemed Apply could(Or would not) learn from its own lessons and open up their Hardware and Software and not be so proprietary..
Well over time, About 1990, I finally gave in to the Big Gorilla(MS) and gave up on my beloved apple… I was not a yuppie and did not have $5,000 to spend on a computer that was very limited…
Flash forward to 2007. My good memory of Apple had faded along with my brown hair to gray. Now there was something new.. What was this Iphone thing that people were standing in line for days and going nuts over??? Friends of mine after friend had got an Iphone or IPod Touch and more and more I drooled over this new device…
Well 2010 I finally took the plunge.. It felt good, like returning to an old friend…
I am totally amazed at the UI(User Interface) of my IPod Touch… It’s so intuitive and easy to use.. What all my friends told and showed me was true.. This thing is fun to use and more importantly EASY to use…
BUT…
Over the next 3 or 4 weeks I discovered that the IPod/Iphone had a BIG UGLY fat slob of an Uncle hidden away that nobody wanted you to see..
What is this BIG UGLY Uncle hidden away????? ITunes…
I have been so completely frustrated with the use of ITunes compared to the ease of use of the IPod UI.. I mean could these 2 produces really be put out by the same company???
ITunes is shockingly complicated and frustrating to use. I have had SO many little knickknack issue that have come up over the past several weeks.. I mean little things that should be intutative and easy to do taking me hours of frustration and Google’ing looking for answers.. Good Grief.. I now see why so many people Jailbreak(Something I have half way considered).. I mean one simple example of my frustration… I have some small videos I got loaded to my ITunes with no problem…I can see them right there in front of my face in ITunes… BUT for some bizarre unknown reason for the life of me I can get them downloaded to my IPod… I mean this whole “Sync” thing along with all the options of “Automatically Include” don’t Automatically include, only add the 5 most recent, only add selected, add to play list, add to purchase list, add to custom play list…. What the Hell is all this????????????? And I Google and read for answers for hours and find all kinds of “Oh yes this is a problem with the latest version of ITunes, our yea here is a 25 step work around on how to do this… HELLO?????????????????? Apply how about if you have a video added to your iTunes, you can right click on that video and one of the options is “Download to your IPod”….. WOW what a concept…
I mean this is just one example of several issues I have ran into… Are they show stoppers??? No, Yes, Maybe… I don’t know.. But I do know my wife was a little worried last night that I was on the verge of throwing both my IPod and PC out the window…
I was thinking about someday maybe getting a 2G or 3G IPAd but if I don’t see MAJOR improvements with ITunes, I will say forget it.. I mean if I wanted this sadomasochistic frustration I can use a Microsoft product… The big weak link in all these great Apply products, and I do mean WEAK, is ITunes… How about putting some effort in creating a new Itunes that blows us away as much as the Iphone/Ipod/Ipad have????
Apple PLEASE wake up and create an ITunes that is as easy to use as the IPod itself…
The Big Fat Ugly Hairy Smelly Armpits Uncle is already making want to move out and I just got here..
Okay, when I read all the great reviews for the touch, I was a bit worried about them all being apple junkies. I am not an apple junkie, in fact, this is the first apple product I have owned, but I have to say I love it. This device is amazing. It blows my old PDA out of the water completely, and yes, I did buy this as a PDA first, music player second. Some of the calendar functions are not as nice as my PDA, but some functions are better. For example, you can’t put in a repeating event on a certain day of the week each month (like 1st Tuesday each month). However, it does sync with Outlook (iCal on Mac) so I can just input those appointments on my desktop computer. The calendar function does have many cool features that my PDA didn’t, though. The touch screen keyboard is SO much easier than using a stylus. The apps are endless and awesome. The MP3 player is awesome, and I can use it at the same time as most other programs. OS 4 coming out will even allow for bluetooth keyboards! I can’t imagine anyone buying this and not loving it. Just don’t buy the 8gb, it’s not enough room. The only thing that I really wish it had is a camera, but it’s not that big of a deal compared to the multitude of other functions it has.
